Umbria Center rises in Biñan

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A new and vibrant lifestyle-oriented community center will soon redefine the retail development landscape south of Metro Manila with the launch of the Umbria Commercial Center in Binan, Laguna.

Easily accessible via the South Luzon Expressway, the commercial enclave offers residents of this thriving city and nearby areas like Alabang, San Pedro and Sta. Rosa, a dynamic mix of retail stores and dining places in one venue.

Targeted for completion late this year, the project is headed by the group of Andrew Ng, owner and president of Picadilly Circus Landing Inc. (PCLI), whose extensive experience in trading, real estate commercial leasing, retail operations and franchising is entrenched in the company’s first-ever venture into shopping center development.

“We are excited to introduce Umbria Commercial Center, which presents a retail experience never before had in this area. This early, we have been receiving very good response from prospective locators who are enthusiastic to bring their brands to the people of Binan and neighboring areas,” says Ng.

The multi-level commercial center occupies a full hectare of prime real estate where specialty retail, clothing and accessories boutiques; sit-down fastfood, casual dining and specialty restaurants; cafes and milk tea shops; bread stores and deli shops; convenience and drug stores; a gym; health, wellness and beauty centers;  home and DIY stores; recreational establishments and service-oriented shops are reasons enough to swing by the place.

“Aside from being a one-stop lifestyle destination, Umbria has all the components of commercial success that we believe would appeal to retail and dining establishments. It has the four rights – right size, right tenant mix, right market and right location,” explains Anton Hechanova, managing director of Umbria and  One AD Philippines Group.

As project director and business advisor, Hechanova is  working closely with PCLI to ensure the smooth execution of the project from the ground up.  One A.D. Philippines is a real estate business advisory and top-level management consultancy group, offering corporate development as well as practical and functional expertise to business ventures and challenges.

Umbria Center boasts design ideas that beautifully blend iconic architectural sketches and contemporary design. Floating arches inspired by the umbrella-like structures of L’Umbracle Gardens in Valencia, Spain, gracefully lean over tree-lined walkways, sweeping garden landscapes and al fresco spaces.

The clever use of steel and specialty lighting visibly lend a modern feel to the structure while glass panel treatments let the outside in and give the illusion of space and movement. Shoppers may also admire the charming outdoors a few feet above the ground with Umbria’s scenic elevators that provide a panoramic view of its surroundings. For the convenience of its customers, there will be  covered pathways and secure parking lots.

â€œOne of the main attractions of Umbria Center is its accessibility. The location is very strategic.  It is a 10-minute drive from Alabang and is accessible 24/7 to public transportation. It is right in the center of Biñan, a first-class city with highly-populated residential communities,” explains Ng.

People coming from SLEX can take the Carmona-Biñan Exit and Mamplasan Exit, drive a few minutes before reaching the corner of the old National Highway and Jubilation Road, where the newest retail landmark of the south comes into full view.
