MANILA, Philippines - For Missonihome, its first residential interior design project in the world holds a deep and very special meaning. It is the first time that the renowned Italian lifestyle brand will share an intimate connection with its followers through a permanent living space that can last generations. And when it found the partner in Century Properties to execute the shared vision of expressing life in living color, the choice of location just had to be the Philippines, the land of perpetual summer and home to equally warm and cheerful people.
The official launch of the Acqua Livingstone tower in March marked a milestone in this collaboration between the two companies, after a magnificent showroom of Missonihome’s full furniture and interior design aesthetic were unveiled at the site of Acqua Private Residences in Mandaluyong City, located within the Manila capital.
Vittorio Missoni, Missoni Shareholder and Managing Director, said: “When I heard about the Acqua project, met with Century Properties and saw the beauty, the modernity of the building, we combined the very high-tech, very modern design [of Acqua Livingstone] with the elements of nature and the vibrance of colors. I believe that life is more fun with colors. So I hope today, you will enjoy and have a little fun in seeing what we have done.”
Acqua Livingstone is the fourth of six buildings to rise at Acqua Private Residences, the Philippines’ first residential Eden. With its nature-infused design, including three iconic waterfalls each three storeys high, the 2.4-hectare development is deemed the perfect project to feature a Missonihome-designed building.
“You are going to see the Missonihome magic as expressed in the Acqua Livingstone project,” said Century Properties Group Inc. Managing Director and Acqua Project Head Marco Antonio. “If you look at the home collection of Missoni, you will see nature everywhere. For Acqua, we wanted to collaborate with a brand that had this particular design ethos. We were also looking for a company that shared the passion and innovation of bringing forth premium and distinctive products.”
Announced in February of this year, Acqua Livingstone promises to infuse Missonihome’s signature blend of creative and colorful patterns and forms is the perfect match to the residential development’s tropical rainforest theme. The Italian brand’s unique and bold combination of hues and shapes mimicking elements of nature are visible at the Acqua Sales Center lobby, where the briefing was held, as well as the theater, amenities and model units.
Edoardo Roda, T&J Vestor General Manager, said: “We wanted a partner that shared our vision and was going in the same direction as we were, and in showing the importance of lifestyle, this was the next level for Missonihome. For the Philippines, this is something outstanding, but for the rest of the world, this is also something just as remarkable. Missoni is very visible, it makes a strong statement; it’s a style. To decorate something highly visible and strong as what we have done here is something that we are truly proud of.”
Acqua Livingstone’s design centers on bold colors and energetic forms in the lobbies, hallways and even elevators, accentuated by the equally arresting furniture of Missonihome. The multi-level amenity area called The Canopy, located at the building’s sky deck, serves as the pinnacle of Missonihome’s design imprint.
The Canopy’s lower level will house functions rooms, business center, an indoor and outdoor gym, Jacuzzi, a library and spa. The upper level is a social space dedicated to interaction and entertainment with an amphitheatre, lounge, DJ booth and dance floor, pool with swim up bar, and barbecue facilities. Tying these two levels together is a fanciful organic wire-mesh tree that winds its way up and connects to the mezzanine floor, where residents can enjoy surrounding views or enjoy a meal in the open-air dining area.
With floating lights, patterned surfaces, Missoni shapes and forms guiding the landscape, The Canopy provides a true Missoni lifestyle experience, a blend of art and function that completely redefines condominium living.
Acqua Livingstone will have 645 units, which are now offered at pre-selling prices of an average of P145,000 per square meter. Unit sizes range from 27sqm to 140sqm and come in one to three bedrooms. A private collection of special units called Acqua Privé includes Townhouse, Sky Garden, Private Garden, and Penthouse units.
Robbie Antonio, Century Properties Managing Director and Head of International Brand Collaborations, said: “Our latest venture with Missonihome, has become such a remarkable undertaking. From our company’s perspective, the ultimate benefit that a partnership like this brings to the resident is really value appreciation. We have also made it our mandate to provide Filipinos a differentiated product and we feel that collaborations such as this will aid in elevating the Philippines as a premiere development platform.”
