Accessibility is key to RLC's new developments
MANILA, Philippines - Employees consider their work places as their second home. They spend at least eight to 10 hours a day inside the office and another 1 to 2 hours travelling to and fro. As such, work location and accessibility are major considerations of employees when applying for a job. Robinsons Offices, Robinsons Land Corporation’s Office Buildings Division, recognizes this factor and used it as one of its requirements when it decided to develop Robinsons Cyberscape Alpha and Beta.
Cyberscape Alpha and Beta will have 25 storeys and 36 storeys respectively and will have a combined gross floor area of about 80,000 square meters by mid-2013. Both buildings will have wide column-free spaces which are perfect for BPO and call center offices, and commercial spaces for lease to address the basic needs of the employees. Strategically located within the Ortigas CBD, these new developments will be within easy access from EDSA/Ortigas Avenue and less than 5 minutes away from Ortigas MRT station. The presence of FX/taxi lanes and other public transport vehicles assures will also facilitate easy accessibility to the employees. It is also near Robinsons Galleria where employees can have a great time shopping and dining after a day’s work. Top executives who wish to live near their office can opt to stay in the nearby residential developments such as Galleria Regency and East of Galleria condominiums. For visiting clients and team building activities, two Inter-Continental Hotel Group (IHG) brand hotels – Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn provide luxurious accommodations and multipurpose functions rooms. All these features promote the live-work-play environment.
These buildings will be equipped with high-speed elevators, building management system addressing security safety and fire protection, CCTV surveillance, ample provisions for entrance cables of telephone lines, 100 percent back-up power; and Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) air conditioning system for effective operation and maintenance. They will also have ample parking and overhead/underground water tanks to ensure uninterrupted operations and services within the buildings.
According to architect Henry Yap, general manager of RLC’s Office Buildings Division, “the construction of Cyberscape Alpha and Beta reflects our concurrence with the property market’s sentiment that the BPO industry shall be a major catalyst that will continuously expand in the coming years”. Business Processing Association Philippines (BPA/P) had reported that by 2016, industry players’ revenue will grow threefold while employees to be hired will double their present levels.
