South Forbes, Not Just a Name
MANILA, Philippines - What’s in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet but, in the Philippines, none smells sweeter than South Forbes Golf City, the country’s largest fully-integrated and all-themed golf resort city at the forefront of the Metro Sta. Rosa Tagaytay corridor, not with the Best Golf Community Development by the 2007 CNBC International Property Awards, the world’s most prestigious property awards programme, and the Highly Commended Award for Best Development by the 2010 Bloomberg Asia-Pacific Residential Award in its pocket.
Indeed, not all developments are created equal and the acclaim South Forbes Golf City has reaped only proves it is above the rest.
“What makes us unique is our 5 Clusters of Excellence where an internationally-themed Residential Cluster is supported in synergy by the Education, Business, Wellness, and Leisure Clusters so that our residents live in a balanced, sustainable way,” said Cathay Land president Jeffrey Ng. “In fact, our Residential Cluster, which comes in four development types, is a masterpiece in itself.”
Classy Communities. South Forbes’ first residential type is called Communities where the utilities are hybrid, meaning, there is a combination of above-ground and underground electrical lines. While the type is common among most other residential developments, what is signature South Forbes is the themed character of these communities.
The leader of the pack is the Mediterranean Villas -- the first of the themed enclaves to be developed. The landscape is dotted by quaint Spanish-inspired villas whose colors are reminiscent of the Iberian coast. Beside it is the regal Châteaux de Paris which boasts of six themed gardens and a grand, palatial clubhouse. At the end of the boulevard is Miami, the tropical hotspot of the hip and famous with pastel colored Art Deco and Moderne homes and a clubhouse pooldeck much like a beachfront.
Marvelous Mansions. “The Mansions is an exclusive enclave of three themed lifestyle villages: Bali Mansions, Tokyo Mansions, and Phuket Mansions,” Mr. Ng said. “Electrical utilities and the like are underground, making this whole resort-inspired community pleasing to the eyes with no suspended wires to hinder one’s view of the relaxing environs.”
