MANILA, Philippines - Engaging in sports activities offer more than the advantage of a healthy body. It also establishes strength in community ties and creates venues for neighbors to interact and feel involved in the community.
These benefits set the mood of DMCI Homes’ 1st Inter-Community Summer Sportsfest, which culminated last June 18, with over 300 residents who participated. This one-of-a-kind community affair recognized and highlighted community talents and skills in the field of sports, and also promoted camaraderie, sportsmanship and team spirit among homeowners.
The opening day affair, which was held at the Celebrity Sports Plaza in Quezon City , invited DMCI Homes’ homeowners to a season-long tournament of basketball and badminton. The sportsfest was conceptualized to reiterate DMCI Homes’ dedication to not only help build homes, but help build lives as well.

Residents of these DMCI Homes communities were the first to attest to the success of the activity.
“All of us were able to enjoy the friendship, the fun and challenge of the sports event. Imagine, 15 adults all from different walks of life, who has their own daily things to attend to, would take time to meet up, share a meal and discuss one common thing “how to get the championship trophy in our community and how important was it for the whole team that we should win the first year,” said Antonio P. Roales Jr., team captain of Palm Grove, over-all champion in the Basketball Seniors Division.
Residents specially enjoyed the home and away format (teams play in other/various communities’ basketball courts), where they got to see and appreciate other DMCI Homes communities as well.
All communities are excited as early as now to join again next year’s sportsfest.
