MANILA, Philippines - Top real estate developer SM Development Corp. (SMDC) unveiled last week the innovative SMDC Grand Showroom, touted as the biggest residential showroom in the Philippines to date.
Covering almost 8,000 sqm in the Mall of Asia Complex, the breakthrough SMDC Grand Showroom has two floors, features an amphitheater, a very spacious lounge, an entertainment deck and a 3,000 sqm showroom area — all for the convenience of its visitors. The innovative showroom was designed by architect Albert Yu of Asya Design, who also planned SMDC’s residential projects.
It will allow interested buyers to tour SMDC’s residential projects depending on their budget, preferred size or location —all under one roof. A first of its kind, the company said SMDC Grand Showroom will be a helpful attraction to potential homeowners.
Also during the grand launch, SMDC introduced its newest endorser, celebrity Anne Curtis.
SMDC vice-chairman and CEO Henry Sy Jr. said the grand showroom is the first of its kind in Philippine real estate and serves as a one-stop shop where prospective buyers can see for themselves eight model units: Jazz Residences, Light Residences, Sun Residences, Shell Residences, and M Place brand.
“This way, we are empowering each and every Filipino into owning their home,” he said. SMDC pioneered the construction of affordable five-star homes in the country.
Sy said they pride themselves not only in being able to offer friendly and affordable payment schemes, but also in innovative ideas that revolutionize home ownership. “Our task as the country’s fastest growing and number one selling real estate developer is to continue reinventing ourself,” he added.
In 2010, SMDC was able to sell 10,000 condominium units with P22 billion in sales and P3 billion in profits. “This year, we are targeting to sell more than 10,000 units, make P25 to P30 billion in sales, and hit more than P4 billion in net income,” Sy revealed.
Meanwhile, during the showroom’s inauguration, SMDC assistant vice-president for marketing Bernadette Ramos said their task as a real estate developer does not end in offering affordable, five-star homes.
“It is also our job to make it easier and seamless for people to gain access to the properties that we are offering. With the SMDC Grand Showroom, we are laying out all options in front of them, making it easier for them to weigh one residential property over the other. This, we believe, will help our buyers make the best and most informed decision in acquiring their dream homes,” she said.
The SMDC Grand Showroom currently features eight model units, ranging from semi-upgraded studio, upgraded one-bedroom to two-bedroom units with balcony, and an upgraded studio combination type. All units were designed by interior designer Monica Sarmiento of M Concepts, to showcase the design possibilities for every elegant unit.
