Applicators trained on Ceptiva use

MANILA, Philippines - In the fight against termites, Philippine households and other structures are being introduced to Ceptiva, manufactured by leading chemical company BASF. Because termite colonies are relentless and very destructive, years of extensive research have been devoted to developing the most effective solution to this ongoing problem.

Now in the Philippines, Ceptiva eliminates termite activity and colonies in a couple of weeks. Ceptiva is a dispersible powder formulation, comprised of 0.5% fipronil, fluorescent pigment, and high-grade alpha cellulose. With its unique feature called the Transfer Effect, Ceptiva is transferred, and is effective to all types of subterranean termites through grooming and ingestion. It efficiently exterminates rampaging wood-eaters in treated areas. It is highly recommended that Stedfast, a BASF liquid termiticide, be applied around the infrastructure after the termite colony is totally eliminated to prevent future infestations.

Ceptiva was launched recently at the Discovery Suites in Mandaluyong where the country’s top Pest Control Operators (PCOs) were invited. This activity was followed by a special training of the PCOs’ technicians last summer at the Club Filipino in Greenhills. BASF supported its exclusive local distributor of Pest Control Solution Products, Upgreen Corporation, in the activity that educated the technicians in the technical aspects and proper application of Ceptiva. BASF business manager Karina Herrera, and Upgreen president Elmer Baradas, and Upgreen sales manager Jay Tolentino, conducted the lecture and open forum.

 The appointed Ceptiva PCOs are called “Ceptiva Certified Applicators” (CCAs). There was a good flow and exchange of technical and practical ideas within the group, which help CCAs in offering the product to homeowners. A total of 75 technicians attended the training. The training expounded on topics like the advantages and benefits of Ceptiva, practical tips on Ceptiva application and the successful preliminary testing on infested areas in the Philippines.

A number of PCOs and technicians who tried out Ceptiva prior to its introduction to the local market eagerly testified and discussed the merits of using the proven termite-eliminating powder during the open forum. They attested to the efficacy and fast effect of the termiticide, encouraging their colleagues to buy and try it out for themselves.

The participating CCAs were given Ceptiva shirts and certificates. Ceptiva is only available from these accredited and expertly trained CCAs.
