MANILA, Philippines - Despite threats of a global economic slowdown, the 24-year real estate developer Century Properties finished off 2009 with positive news such as an early project turnover, a successful overseas campaign and on-schedule project constructions.
The firm’s chief operating officer John Victor R. Antonio also expressed a renewed optimism for the property industry for 2010 with the introduction of its new brand category, the launch of one of the company’s biggest residential projects, and the on-track construction of its Makati development, Century City.
“We are launching a nine-building project at an estimated cost of P6 billion called Azure Urban Resort Residences in Paranaque City under Century Limitless, a new brand category of Century Properties that will develop affordable yet high-quality residential projects,” Antonio said.
Azure, a joint-venture between Century Properties of Jose E.B. Antonio and the Columbian Group of Companies headed by Mr. Jose C.H. Alvarez, will be the newest project in the booming South Luzon Expressway corridor, rising in a six-hectare property in Brgy. Marcelo Green, Paranaque, right beside SM Bicutan and accessible via the Bicutan exit.
Another highlight for Century is the on-schedule construction of its two residential buildings at Century City in Kalayaan Avenue, Makati. The first tower, Gramercy Residences, is already on the 23rd floor of construction and is expecting to top off by the end of the year. Meanwhile, concrete pouring has started at the second tower, Knightsbridge Residences, following the completion of excavation works.
Another highlight is the early turnover of Century’s 886-unit residential condominium in Mandaluyong called Soho Central, a joint venture project with Greenfield Development Corporation. Delivered in June 2009, Soho Central opened for the occupancy of its residents 6 and 18 months ahead of the scheduled delivery dates of the first and second towers, respectively.
