Sustainable cooling effects presented

MANILA, Philippines - Green building technologies are finally taking off in the Philippines, with architects, engineers, systems providers and other industry players taking the lead in promoting sustainable energy solutions. Among these solutions are green cooling systems which are not only environmentally friendly but also create long-term cost savings for building owners, developers and management. To share information on the revolutionary new solar and ice thermal air-conditioning systems and CO₂ refrigeration systems, D.B. International Sales & Services Inc. Albright will re-introduce the Ice-Cel Thermal Energy System, which meets the US Green Building Council’s LEED rating system for the most energy efficient technologies. The secret behind the Ice-Cel system’s energy-saving feature is the charging and storage of ice in an insulated tank during off-peak evening hours, which dramatically reduces electricity cost. This stored ice is then used to provide air conditioning for the building during daytime operations, minimizing emissions of greenhouse gases.
