MANILA, Philippines - Would you love to wake up to the chirping of birds, take a whiff of real fresh air from your balcony window and find the Sierra Madre mountains and the Marikina River a part of your scenery? All these can unbelievably be within Metro Manila – tucked into a quiet 12-hectare part of Quezon City called Circulo Verde.
Ortigas & Company broke ground on its first medium-high rise project in Calle Industria, Bagumbayan, Quezon City, delivering on its promise to start development of this green residential community that works with nature to provide residents with city living ease within an environment sensitive to the beauty and living energy of the land.
Ortigas & Company COO Rex C. Drilon II said, “The project will be one of the best residential communities that work with the environment. It will be true to our corporate commitment to live and breathe green.”
Drilon said the company’s 78-year history would back its claim as it had previously converted 4000 hectares of land into quality communities for people, such as the Valle Verde and Greenhills Subdivisions, Green Meadows and Wack-Wack, as well as a premiere business district, Ortigas Center.
Circulo Verde will commence construction of its first building in the third quarter of 2009, and units will be turned over in 2012. The whole project is targeted for completion in 12 to 15 years. “We are proud of the concept of our living environment,” said Drilon. “Circulo Verde is located in a quiet part of the city that is still very accessible to the major commercial and business districts like Ortigas Center, Makati, Greenhills, Tiendesitas, and Cubao. Seventy percent of the land area has been devoted to green, open spaces that include dog parks, swimming pools and sports facilities. Tucked into various levels are sky gardens – landscaped atriums – that will make the building breathe and bring the outdoors indoor.”
