Cyberpark attracts BPO firms, multinationals

MANILA, Philippines - McKinley Hill, the exciting new township in Fort Bonifacio, is turning out not only as one of the top new business process outsourcing (BPO) sites in the country, but is also fast attracting various multinational companies and even embassies.

Its business district, the McKinley Hill Cyberpark, is becoming the top choice among multinationals and BPOs mainly because office buildings are designed to fit locators’ specific needs. BPOs, in particular, are pleased at the big floor spaces provided, as well as the convenient location and various facilities - including even a dorm residence for employees.

Those from older business districts that have transferred to McKinley Hill Cyberpark include BPO firms such as Logica, CAISTA, Strategic Back Office Solutions, Petra Financial, DTSI, Hewlett-Packard, Thomson Reuters and Accenture. A holding company, CP Equities, has found a new home here as well.

Even companies like Lawson and Erricson, which used to be in newer business districts, have moved to McKinley Hill Cyberpark. Consumer goods companies such as Colgate-Palmolive, Del Monte Fresh and 3M Philippines have made the smart move as well.

Other multinationals and BPO firms that McKinley Hill Cyberpark has attracted are Ingram Micro, Western Union, Diageo, Holcim, Transcosmos, Logicall, Syngenta, Safeway, DDB Media Inc, Factset, and Salmat.

The Cyberpark is part of the 50-hectare mixed-use area of McKinley Hill, the most modern and integrated community in the Philippines developed by Megaworld Corporation. The Cyberpark, about 14 hectares big, is located only minutes away from the Makati central business district and one can get to the Ortigas CBD as well via C-5 to the east.

“McKinley Hill Cyberpark offers proximity to older CBDs, while being a unique new business district on its own. Locators also avoid the hassle of traffic jams, pollution and congested spaces associated with those CBDs. Aside from our high-tech environment, we have a lot of open spaces and greeneries, which our locators appreciate,” noted Megaworld FVP for business development Jericho Go.

As an ecozone accredited with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza), McKinley Hill Cyberpark offers locators both fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, which BPO firms can take advantage of.

To keep up with the strong demand for office space in this location, Megaworld will finish six new buildings at McKinley Hill Cyberpark this year - the 8 Park Avenue Building B, the Commerce & Industry Plaza, and the 8, 10, 18 and 20 Upper McKinley Road towers.

Depending on the size of their office space requirements, Megaworld offers future locators naming or signage rights in any of these six new buildings. “This feature of signage or naming rights will definitely hype a locator’s status and aid their branding efforts - perhaps even attract potential employees,” Go remarked.

It’s not just BPO firms and multinationals that have discovered the excellence of McKinley Hill Cyberpark. Its strategic location and tight security have also attracted the interest of embassies, one of the new locators being the Qatar Embassy. The British Embassy is now operational, while the Korean Embassy is under construction within McKinley Hill.

Those in McKinley Hill Cyberpark don’t need to go far to find what they want. Within the township, surrounding the cyberpark, are residential areas, an impressive Venetian-themed mall to open later this year, and a relaxing forest park.

Simply put, McKinley Hill Cyberpark has the best of everything. Wide open spaces allow employees and executives to breathe in some fresh air while taking a break. With all the multinationals and top BPO firms finding a new home here, your company will definitely be in good company.
