Green myths busted

-

MANILA, Philippines - Decades ago, a green community would have been called expensive, weird-looking and a hassle to live in. But these invectives can no longer be hurled as easily today. Through world-class developers like Alveo Land, an Ayala Land company, home owners are seeing past the fallacies that have long plagued the green community.

“The green community has so much to offer urban families. But misconceptions persist-from having a high cost and acquired aesthetic appeal, to its low comfort as a residential location,” says Jennylle Tupaz, division manager for project development of Alveo Land. “We hope to disprove these with Treveia — a green community that will set the myths straight once and for all.”

Myth 1

While many would think eco-friendly is heavy on the pockets, the truth is that those who live in green communities such as Treveia save themselves money in the long run. “In the mindset of a long term investment, Treveia actually helps in reducing expenses with its efficient design. The houses designed to maximize use of natural lighting and ventilation help families cut down on electricity costs, while the double piping system will help bring down their water consumption,” says Tupaz.

Aside from utility costs, the development also reduces the need for gas-guzzling cars. “Treveia has pedestrian paths for walking or riding a bike. These alternative means of transportation offer a healthier and less costly way of getting around the neighborhood.
