New PICE prexy, directors induction

Ramon P. Aquino, 2009 president of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE), along with its new officers and national board of directors, will be inducted on the evening of Jan. 24 at Club Filipino Kalayaan Hall, San Juan City.

Rep. Rufus B. Rodriguez, second district congressman of Cagayan de Oro City, will be the guest speaker and inducting officer. Before the induction, outgoing PICE president Willy T. Go will formally turn over the presidency to incoming president Aquino, who will then present the PICE special leadership award to Go. Former Philippine President Fidel V. Ramos is PICC honorary president.

The other officers to be inducted are Venancio I. Besavilla Jr., 1st vice-president; Jaime A. Pacanan, Ph.D., 2nd vice-president; Ruben A. Sy, secretary; Miriam L. Tamayo,treasurer; David G. Sanchez, business manager; Ronaldo S.Ison, press relations officer; and Julius S. Maquiling, auditor. To be inducted as directors are Jesus P. Gammayo, Sinaolan T. Macarambon, Aser S. Mallari, Eugenio R. Pipo Jr., Nerio L. Ronquillo Jr., Danilo D. Superiano, and Angelito M. Twano. Go is ex-officio director.

The council of advisers who are former PICE presidents are Juanito P. Abergas, Primitivo C. Cal, Ph.D., Mocamad M. Raki-in, Sr., Peter N. Aventajado, Manuel M. Bondan, Efren M. Sison, Bashir D. Rasuman, Felipe F. Cruz, Nelson Q. Irasga, David M. Consunji, Angel L. Lazaro III, Ph.D., Jesus S. Hipolito, Ramon G. Hechanova and Angel R. Lazaro Jr. Other officials are Antonio A. Abola, chancellor, College of Fellows; Leo Cleto A. Gamolo, legal counsel; and Nannette C. Villanueva, national administrative officer.
