McKinley hosts fun run

McKinley Hill, a 50-hectare upscale township project by premier real estate developer Megaworld Corporation, supports UNICEF’s Walk on the Child’s Side annual grand walkathon this Sunday, November 23. The family event intends to raise P2 million for UNICEF’s education in emergencies program.

Apart from its well-planned residential areas, high-tech business process outsourcing facilities and leisure amenities, McKinley Hill is fast becoming a favorite venue for fitness buffs and runners for its pleasant environment with challenging rolling landscapes, fresh air and open spaces. Recently it was the site for the Mizuno Marathon, the Nike Human Race and Accenture Fun Run, which brought fitness enthusiasts together in the spirit of fun and wellness.

Runners also prefer McKinley Hill because it is enclosed in a safe environment with 24-hour security personnel. It espouses Megaworld’s Live-Work-Play-Learn lifestyle, which proved successful in Eastwood City. All aspects of one’s life are taken in important consideration. McKinley Hill also affords breathtaking vistas of Laguna de Bay and the Sierra Madre mountains to the east. From here, runners and joggers can also see the quaint Mediterranean-style homes in McKinley Hill Village, the new 1, 2 and 3 World Square business process outsourcing (BPO) office buildings, the new Chinese International School Manila and the Asian colonial era-style buildings of Enderun Colleges.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Fun Run will start and end near the site where Megaworld is developing The Venice Luxury Residences in McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio.

For this partnership with UNICEF, Megaworld also promotes the culture of social responsibility by enjoining companies and employees to take part in fund raising activities to help poor Filipino children in particular.

“We are truly committed to help UNICEF help Filipino children in need. We are also calling on other companies and partners to join us raise money to help build and rehabilitate schools affected by calamities or conflicts,” Megaworld chairman and CEO Andrew Tan, himself a philanthropist through the Megaworld Foundation, said.

Interested parties may register at R.O.X., Bonifacio High Street, The Fort. Runners who register from Nov. 17-22 will pay P300 as their contribution to UNICEF.
