New ‘green phase’ launched

-

Property giant Megaworld Corp., the country’s undisputed leader in residential condominium and business process outsourcing (BPO) building developments, will be launching soon the much-awaited new “green phase” of Manhattan Garden City inside the Araneta Center to be called the Manhattan Parkview Residence.

In a statement, Megaworld Central Properties Inc. president Anthony Charlemagne Yu thanked the investing public and aspiring homeowners for the tremendous success of Manhattan Garden City’s first three towers, which are very near sold-out status. He noted that the three-tower Manhattan Parkview will be another “first-of-its-kind” residential building in the long list of the company’s pioneering projects due to its tropical landscaping and the use of the innovative green rooftop development concept.

The green rooftop, Yu said, insulates the building from both heat and cold, promoting energy conservation and improving the level of oxygen in the surrounding area.

“Aside from the benefits it gives to the building, it also greatly contributes to human comfort and health within an urban area like the Araneta Center by reducing urban surface temperatures, storm water run-off and filtering pollutants and carbon dioxide out of the air,” Yu pointed out.

The landscaping of Manhattan Parkview, meanwhile, is generally in line with the overall concept of its outdoor development plan, which features a walkable and interconnected area with emphasis on greens and open spaces.

“A lot of people desire a place that provides a natural relief from the busy-ness of life, and the best place to get this kind of feeling is an outdoor sanctuary that has nature at its best offering the chance to unwind, rest and rejuvenate. The greens would serve as its medium in achieving this purpose,” Yu added.

Manhattan Parkview’s nature park experience is replete with features that ensure a relaxing experience because of its landscape details, accents, and water displays at every corner.

The use of tropical plants, with its imposing foliage and wild flowers, makes residents feel like they are out of the city.

Visually, the greeneries also provide a “soft touch” to the hard landscape and serve as screens and buffers to provide privacy for users of outdoor amenities such as the pool, benches, sun decks, trellises, etc.

Easily propagated flowers that come in great varieties and brightness of colors are used to accentuate certain landscape details such as pots and planters.

“Urban dwellers commonly see manicured landscapes, which are artistically shaped or formally laid out. Manhattan Parkview will feature a tropical garden with free-form planting arrangements. This mass tropical planting style creates a micro-environment that gives a natural feel while walking,” Yu said.
