The Ayutthaya at Phuket Mansions: Your dream home in paradise

The wellness revolution is exploding into the mainstream. The concept of the home being a therapeutic place to foster balance, harmony and wellness is catching on and one of the newest trends in modern living is incorporating this experience into the home. With water being one of the most important elements of Thai culture, the emphasis is on natural living in a flowing and holistic environment.

Inspired by ancient spa cultures, integrating the concept of life in residential design is the inspiration and result behind the Ayutthaya model mansion at South Forbes Golf City’s newest luxurious resort residential enclave, Phuket Mansions. It is a home designed to create an atmosphere of complete relaxation and privacy.

Borrowing from classic Thai temple architectural themes that reflect a quiet and serene elegance, the design makes use of separate pavilions in different areas, centered on a pool to accentuate the feeling of resort-style living. Originating from Central Thailand and inspired by the Ayutthaya Dynasty, this classic architectural style is a cluster formation with an open living floor plan. It is a celebration of living in the climate for a natural flow of cool, fresh air through the entire house with plenty of openings and high ceilings. It is known for its balance, complexity, and symmetry.

Upon entering, two small lotus ponds on both sides greet the guest from the main entry and from a distance, three stunning and apparent pavilions can be seen. To the far right is the pavilion that houses the dining room with wood as the main element of design — from the wall panels to the lovely eight-seater table. Here, entertaining close friends is a perfect place with glass doors connecting to the open kitchen. Adding to height and space are vibrant colors rich in copper and purple that embellishes the ceiling.

Water envelopes a large portion of Ayutthaya in adherence to the Thais’ veneration for it; and with this, the center pavilion is framed by water on three sides making the feel more like a gazebo in the middle of a Thai island. The main element of the design is dark wood and it features a cathedral-height ceiling at the rear side roof where pocket gardens can be seen.

A family room near the hall and the master’s bedroom at the ground floor is situated at the left pavilion. And with the pool framing the side facing the living area, a tranquil effect can only take place daily.

A lively mix of whites interspersed with dark browns and rich purple, copper and red make up the bedroom interior. And as true adherence to openness, a private garden enclosed by high walls lets one bask in solitude in the open air shower and jacuzzi. This indulgence makes up a couple’s own private paradise.
