Urban convenience and country pleasure

-
The sounds of cicadas and chirping birds as well as bullfrogs after the rain continue to be very much alive in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, among the fastest growing cities in the Philippines.

The rare residential area that still combines country living and the conveniences of urban life, Sta. Rosa continues to attract entrepreneurs and employees and their families. These homeowners seeking a respite from urban living are concentrated in residential communities developed by Avida Land. The company was chiefly responsible for the dramatic increases in land values in what were mostly sugar fields until the early ’90s.

The sugar fields have since been converted into a dynamic, self-contained city with homes, schools, a commercial and manufacturing area dominated by car and electronic firms. But the rustic charm has endured. It remains very much evident especially in the 1.6-hectare Santarosa Estates, the flagship development of Avida.

After having sold out earlier phases, Avida Land recently opened up a new and exclusive phase made up of only 37 homes in response to sustained, pent up demand. Says Raquel Cruz, Avida Land’s project development manager for Santarosa Estates: "This will definitely be the last phase since Avida’s land bank for this product type in the South has for the most part been exhausted." The affordable housing developer is now moving to other locations such as Central Luzon for its new developments.

Avida Land recently blessed three model units with a contemporary French Mediterranean theme. The two-storey Marseille model unit offers floor areas of 130 sqm for the basic finish and 155 sqm for the premiere finish and a lot size of 326 sqm. The Grenada model, also two-storeys high, offers lots of 326 sqm and floor areas of 137 sqm for the basic finish and 163 sqm for the premiere finish.

Both models have three bedrooms, two toilets and bathrooms and one maid’s room with its own toilet and bath. Its prices range from P5.5 million to P7.8 million.
