Southern charm

-
Perhaps more than any state in the American South, Georgia brings to mind a past — for privileged members of society — of imposing but comfortable plantation residences set amid wide lawns and gardens; white picket fences; tree-shaded lanes lined with colorful blooms; thoroughbred horses; courtly gentlemen and beautiful ladies enjoying balls and soirees; friends, kinfolk, neighbors calling and sharing lazy afternoons on spacious porches — in short, vignettes of a genteel way of life lived by the upper class.

Drawing on such a thematic inspiration, maverick high-end property developer Brittany Corp. and MesaLand Corp., which pioneered master-planned land development in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, have recently launched Georgia Club, an upscale community inspired by gracious living as it existed in the old American South, particularly in the famous, historic area from Savannah to Athens in Georgia.

Brittany’s maverick approach to building high-end, master-planned residential developments is to craft a "lifescape" with each community. Each Brittany lifescape is theme-inspired and creates a way of life for residents which did not previously exist, one that elevates their enjoyment of living to a new level. Brittany has established a new milestone with Georgia Club, offering a new lifescape for gracious, luxurious and neighborly living that combines old-world charm with world-class development.

Leading the launch of Georgia Club were Brittany Corp. president Jing Serrano, MesaLand president Bebo Quiros, Laguna Rep. Uliran Joaquin, Sta. Rosa vice mayor Arlene Arcillas, MesaLand EVP Coy Quiros, and Brittany Corp. VP engineer Rodel Racadio, Corporate communications head Nova Noval and AVP Nene Sadiasa.

With 30 prime hectares allotted initially for its development, Georgia Club is strategically located to the left of the Sta. Rosa highway from the SLEX Exit towards Tagaytay, on naturally beautiful terrain with wide plains and tall trees. Only a 25-minute ride from Alabang, Georgia Park can also be reached via the new Asia Brewery Greenfield Exit, enabling residents to avoid traffic from industrialized areas of Laguna. Not by accident, Georgia Club is adjacent to other prime developments such as Hacienda Sta. Elena, Brittany’s Bellereve, Fontamara, Promenade and La Residencia.

As part of its master-planning, children of future residents are ensured of a high quality education with schools located within the area such as De La Salle, St. Scholastica, Don Bosco and the Ateneo Graduate School. They can acquire a pre-school and primary education at the Acacia School, a primary and secondary education at Woodrose, or a university degree at the soon to rise 45-hectare Sta. Rosa campus of the University of Sto. Tomas. The new UST campus will boast a scenic view of Mt. Makiling, with a refreshing environment more conducive to learning, and a teaching hospital. Or students can attend schools such as Zobel, San Beda and Southridge in Alabang.

Georgia Club also permits residents the enjoyment of leisurely activities at neighboring premier golf courses and country clubs (such as the Sta. Elena Golf and Country Club, Canlubang Golf and Country Club, and The Country Club just a stoneís throw away), relaxation in nearby Tagaytay, or weekend breaks on the beaches of Batangas.

True to its thematic inspiration, Georgia Club residences will boast spacious porches for neighborly visits, symmetrical facades and gabled roofs, evenly spaced windows, dormers and high ceilings. Facades will sport brightly colored shutters and doors with brass knockers, shaded verandahs and tall windows to let in cooling breezes.

In keeping with its theme, the launch of Georgia Club recalled the magic of a festive celebration in Georgia, with costumed ladies and gentlemen in plantation finery, a carriage with ablaze with flowers, an ornate gazebo, not to mention cuisine featuring Southern fried chicken, barbecue fare and corn-on-the-cob.

With the launch of Georgia Club, Brittany begins to build a lifescape to be cherished, with a leisurely and upscale ambiance in which family, friends and neighbors are valued, where residents will live a privileged life among their peers.
