Holiday landmark on SLEX

-
Brittany Bay, the lovely, neo-Victorian themed community of high-end neighborhoods just a stone’s throw away from the Sucat Interchange, has turned into a delightful and distinctive holiday landmark on the South Luzon Expressway, with its giant 40-foot Christmas tree on The Wharf, festooned with more than 10,000 lights, offering a treat to delight the eyes and warm the hearts of motorists, visitors and residents alike.

Even as The Wharf – with holiday lights bringing glitter to its aesthetically pleasing and warmly welcoming restaurants – is an impressive sight, there is much more to Brittany Bay, the flagship project of property maverick Brittany Corp., that makes it the community of choice for residents who want to experience the joys of upscale, year-round living in a master-planned community, inspired by a neo-Victorian theme reminiscent of San Francisco.

To homeowners King and Dulce Dayrit, a couple in their 30s who are now building a single detached residence in the picturesque La Posada neighborhood of Brittany Bay, their new home-in-the-making is, of course, special. "The residence we’re building in Brittany Bay is a Christmas gift to our children, a 12-year old boy, a four-year old girl and a three-year old toddler," explains King.

With their children growing, King and Dulce had been increasingly concerned about finding the right environment in which to raise their family, given the urban congestion, dense traffic and security concerns that are inherent to living in Metro Manila.

"We chose Brittany Bay as an exclusive, gated community, because of the overall environment it offers," says King, "We see that Brittany Bay will provide a quality of life, with different elements for enjoying daily living, that won’t be available anywhere else." He cites various aspects of Brittany Bay’s master-planning, such as the tasteful configuration of the community into single-detached residences, Victorianne Duetos and Quadrilles, and medium-rise condominiums, complemented by commercial establishments and leisure amenities, making it a pleasurable and one-of-a-kind community in which to live.

With regard to exclusivity, La Posada, the neighborhoods where the Dayrits are building, will have only 96 homes on wide-frontage lots ranging from 220 to 500 sq. m., with the floor areas of homes varying between 155 and 300 sq. m.

"The surroundings are clean and pleasant, the children can walk and play outside, restaurants and shops are conveniently located within the community, and there are details like the power lines being underground," King remarks, "Brittany Bay’s location is ideal for us, since it is close to Makati." King, a motorcycle enthusiast, is the hands-on proprietor of Full Throttle, a motorcycle shop that specializes in the sale, rental, maintenance and repair of big bikes, especially Harley-Davidsons. Dulce is an HR executive who, likewise, works in Makati.

One aspect of Brittany Bay that he particularly likes, according to King, is that fact that most of those buying into the community are end-users. "These are people who intend to live in Brittany Bay themselves, not property speculators," says King. He and his family are part of a privileged community in which, King says, living feels like you’re enjoying a vacation, not just during the holidays, but all year round.
