New set of wheels

In today’s highly urbanized society, a car is a requirement for families on the go. Mom and dad need it to go to the office, bring the kids to school, and shop for the family’s needs. It is also essential for out of town trips and visits to relatives. When the family gets bigger with the entry of more members — i.e, babies — or the breadwinners earn more success in the corporate world, then they would likely have to acquire a second car to cope with the family’s increased needs.

Families with successful parents and retired grandparents, however, who choose the Asian-inspired Mansions community in the sprawling 250-hectare South Forbes Golf City in the Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay growth area will likely need a second vehicle to live up to the new kind of lifestyle that the Mansions offers them from the very start. But they will need to acquire a unique, different set of wheels. Definitely, a Toyota, Honda, or Mitsubishi will not do.

Since the Mansions community hosts the main access road that leads to South Forbes’ very own 18-hole golf course, parents will be wise to invest in a golf cart to make the whole family enjoy the undulating and perfectly manicured fairways, the conspicuous sand traps, and serene water formations of the world-class South Forbes Golf Club.

South Forbes’ developer worked on the details of the master plan to make sure that families will enjoy driving their carts from the neighborhood to the golf course and back. Cathay Land President Jeffrey Ng narrates, "The wide roads of the Mansions community will actually be laid out in two parts. One is of course for private cars and vans. For the second part we will construct 1-meter wide grass pavers on both sides of the road, with interlocking concrete and grass parts so avid golfers will be able to drive from their Mansions to have a grand time at the greens. After a relaxing round of golf, they can then drive to the nearby restaurants for dinner before going back to their residences."

Ng revealed that they will use gray and black natural stones to give the grass pavers an interesting combination of colors when the carabao grass becomes fully grown. The grass pavers will likewise run freely within road intersections, thus giving a slowing effect among cars as drivers and passengers appreciate the road’s unique grass feature — in effect "humps without the bumps," he said.

Ng added, "With this road feature for their exclusive use, Mansions residents can go virtually anywhere in South Forbes’ thriving satellite city. For us, the golf life is something to be enjoyed straight from the garage. As they drive the cart, they will also get to enjoy the changing vistas and rolling terrain of South Forbes."

The Mansions is the second exclusive community to rise in South Forbes Golf City. Each mansion will have to conform to the projects’ three Asian sub-communities. The first is the tropical resort-oriented Bali Mansions, the next being tranquil the Tokyo Mansions. The last will be the contemporary Chinese-inspired Shanghai Mansions.
