De Leon said the 44.7 hectare Navy property development project will include a total of 4,000 housing units for the Philippine Navy’s enlisted men and officers. Three thousand of these houses will be given to the enlisted Navy men and remaining 1,000 houses are for the officers. Only those who have three more remaining years of active Naval service are entitled to avail of the housing project’s units.
De Leon said the Navy envisions the rise of self-sustaining communities which will include shops, cinemas, restaurants, gymnasiums and other recreational facilities that the navy men and their families will surely enjoy.
According to De Loen, though the property now hosts the Navy’s popular golf course, it is also one prime property which the Navy is "more than willing to give up for the benefit of more people."
The property’s usage will include both housing and commercial areas. The said property is located within Fort Bonifacio with access to major establishments and is just a stone’s throw away from the Makati Business District.
Already gaining recognition as one of the newest commercial and business hubs, the Bonifacio Global City will soon be the home of the mixed Navy housing project. Not only it boasts commercial spaces and other high-rise condominiums, its premier spot is very near airports and major throughfares that give access to investors and visitors to do either business or leisure trips in the area.
Twelve hectares of the P9.5 billion property are being set aside for the housing of Navy personnel and for retired Armed Forces personnel. The said commercial and residential area is slated for groundbreaking this year.
The commercial establishments will be located within the housing portion of the said project to ensure the comfort and the proximity of the commercial areas for the residents.
