Homes amid lifescapes

Home buyers in the metropolis who are in the market for upscale residential areas increasingly face a bewildering array of choices. All high-end property developers boast of "master-planned" communities, "world-class" design consultants, "first-rate" amenities and infrastructures, "efficient" use of space, "top-of-the-line" materials, ad nauseam. So what is there that distinguishes one property choice from another, to help make prospective homeowners make up their minds?
"Buying a home is like getting married its not something done everyday and you need to be convinced that your decision is absolutely the best one for you," says Jing Serrano, president and CEO of Brittany Corporation, the maverick developer with a 10-year track record of creating up-market residential communities and homes of the world that stand above the rest with themes inspired by premium destinations all over the globe.
"Brittanys holistic, total application of thematic influences in envisioning communities be it San Francisco neo-Victorian for Brittany Bay in Sucat, Swiss for CrossWinds in Tagaytay, elegant Italian for Courtyards of Portofino in Alabang, or Caribbean for the resort-inspired villages of Island Park in Dasmariñas, Cavite enables us to create lifescapes, a term we use that refers not only to planned physical structures and spaces, but emotional and psychic dimensions as well. Each lifescape empowers residents to fulfill themselves, enjoy living to the utmost and maximize the possibilities offered by each day, because of where they live," explains Serrano.
"The application of themes is coherent in every community, starting inside and outside the homes down to details like attic rooms, balconies, bay windows, eaves, cupolas and stone cladding, but not monotonous and slavish," according to the Brittany chief executive.
"Our use of themes is evocative of each place of inspiration," says Serrano, "so that when a well-traveled person lives in any Brittany community, he will find its environment, the aesthetics within and without, reminiscent of the destination that inspired it, but not a literal transplantation of the original, which would not be in good taste. The result is a unique lifescape which suits his cultivated tastes and is perfect for his family to live in."
Another plus offered by Brittany communities is the variety of residential configurations available to suit lifestyles and budgets. Examples of Brittanys innovative, awe-inspiring residences include single-detached home and lot packages applying the wide lot concept such as those in the La Posada neighborhood of Brittany Bay. Duettos in the Victorianne neighborhood of Brittany Bay that are thoughtfully designed structures of two homes each with a staggered configuration to maximize comfort and privacy. The Quadrilles, also at Victorianne feature clusters of four units with a layout that enhances private space. With this unique design and layout, the Victorianne does not look or feel like your typical townhouse. The courtyard homes of Courtyards of Portofino are all about bringing the outdoors, indoors reflecting the Italians penchant for romance while allowing natural cooling within the home.
And with the unique "courtyard-within-a-courtyard" concept, these courtyard homes are in turn laid out around a central courtyard. Temperate Tagaytay houses the Swiss Quadrilles at CrossWinds, taking on the "great room" concept with four residential Quadrille units per cluster, instead of building terrain consuming single-detached structures to create a Swiss-inspired weekend retreat amid a plethora of outdoor space.
