"We chose the Tuscan Style for the clubhouse because we wanted a look that would inspire a sense of both aristocracy and comfort, which is exactly what McKinley Hill Village is all about," says Megaworld’s VP for marketing Noli Hernandez.
The spirit of Tuscany
Tuscany’s rustic farmhouses and elegant villas inspired what has become known as "Tuscan Style," an approach to design and architecture that was adapted from the prevailing styles of the Italian Renaissance.
Famous for its vineyards, olive orchards, soft hills, tradition and art, Tuscany is a symbol of Old World splendor. This mountainous and hilly region in northern Italy is enriched by many of the country’s major cities and provinces: Art and culture in Florence. Pure marble in Carrara. Superior wine in Chianti. An Etruscan heritage in Volterra. The famous leaning tower of Pisa. Beautiful villas hundreds of years old around Firenze, Lucca and Siena.
The traditional villa
The clubhouse was patterned after a Tuscan villa to achieve the same resplendent feel and texture. In old Tuscany, the villa  a structure that epitomizes the ideals of Tuscan architecture  was a genteel place where people gathered for rest and recreation.
Tuscan villas are known for their use of stone, terracotta pantiles for the roof, terracotta or stone tiles on the floors and exposed timber beams. Similarly, the McKinley Hill Village clubhouse will also have stonework accents, textured walls and faux timber beams. Its earth-toned façade, floors in textured tile finish and arched doorways are true to the rustic build of the old villas. Rich and simple furnishings in soft, opulent fabrics and rustic wood with accents of iron, leather and tile will no doubt enrich its character.
Like the villa, the clubhouse is the center of recreational activity: it will have its own trellised courtyard, fitness facility and multipurpose area. As the centerpiece of the amenity area, the clubhouse will likewise be surrounded by a combined free-form and lap pool, a spa, a children’s wading pool and a landscaped playground set against verdant surroundings.
A sense of harmony
Tuscan Style was inspired by a region where some of the world's greatest art and architecture developed  the reason why it is innately harmonious and appealing to a wide range of tastes. This sense of harmony comes alive in the Tuscan palette: ivory, gold, earth, bright reds and pasture greens.
"We were not just going for the look and style of an antique Tuscan villa," says Hernandez. "We wanted to create a work of art that would harmonize with McKinley Hill Village’s general air of beauty and refinement."
