Modern-minded classic interiors

"Modern-minded classic interiors" is how Ivy and Cynthia Almario of Atelier Almario, described their design for Livingston (Plan 257), one of three model units of "The Legacy" at Montgomery Place. "It is an updated approach to traditional design," Ivy explained. "In response to the demands of a modern lifestyle, the design favors a cleaner, more functional approach."
Two tall mirrors hang from the high ceiling of the living room, adding to the sense of space. "It even reflects part of the dining room in the upper level," Ivy noted. "The dining room chairs do not have the ornate carvings of a Louis XIV, but feature smooth curves. The lines of the etagere are also clean and simple, so it fits well in the corner space."
"We were given the freedom to enhance certain architectural details such as the ceilings, the moldings, and the build-in cabinets," Cynthia explained. "We added classic moldings. We also used wooden shutters for the windows in lieu of Roman shades. We favored the use of light colors such as latte and cappuccino."
The master bedroom is dominated by a sumptuous four-poster bed with side drapes. Another bedroom feature twin beds with a navy blue color scheme. "Its our version of the Ralph Lauren look," Ivy interjected. A single bed with a pale green color scheme is featured in the third bedroom.
