The Celebrity Place targets yuppies

Upscale property developer One Asia Development Corp., is eyeing the young urban professionals as its core market for The Celebrity Place condominium project.
The initial phase of the project is a P500-million development consisting of 28 townhouses and 71 condominium units within a two-hectare prime property adjacent to the premier Celebrity Sports Club in Diliman, Quezon City.
The project boasts of a family-friendly community which, according to One Asia president Vic H. Manarang, "promotes the pleasure and benefit of a healthy and sporty lifestyle."
Celebrity Sports Club offers its membes an Olympic-size swimming pool, bowling alley, covered tennis and badminton courts, gym, jacuzzy and spa, bar and restaurant, billiards and functions rooms.
One Asia is targeting the yuppie market for its condo units as these are the people who are sporty, health-conscious and career-oriented.
A recent study shows that yuppies in an upwardly mobile society strike a balance between work and a healthy lifestyle. Place of work need not be far from place of residence in the same fashion that place of residence must be in good proximity to their social life needs such as sports facilities, shoppings malls, entertainment centers, educational institutions and business centers.
It is therefore imperative for developers to build and offer value-for-money housing projects with sports facilities in a location accessible to work and social places.
"The concept of the project is attuned to the needs of its intended market," said Manarang.
The Celebrity Place condominium units come in different sizes, from a 30 sqm unit to as big as 104 sqm. The buyer may opt for a studio-type, one bedroom, two-bedroom flat, two-bedroom split or three-bedroom unit.
"The idea is for the yuppies to choose which unit size would best fit their individual preferences," said Manarang.
The condo units are priced from P1.9 million to P6.5 million. A 10-percent discount to spot cash buyers and an eight-percent discount to spot 30-percent down payment buyers are currently being offered.
The typical payment term is spot 10-percent downpayment, 20-percent payable in six, 12, or 24 months with the 70-percent balance payable through bank financng.
One Asia has partnered with reputable financing institutions to assist buyers in availing of bank financing.
Analysts say that a buying a condo unit at The Celebrity Place is a good investment as it has a prime location in Quezon City and one is entitled to the benefits of being a club membership assignee at a cost lower than P2 million.
Moreover, a condo owner gets at least one parking slot which is already included in the unit selling price.
The projects Mediterranean-inspired design by Rolando Mercado Design (RMDA) is also an advantage as it gives the in-city community a high level of sophistication.
The Celebrity Place also offers townhouses with floor areas of 149 sqm or 179 sqm priced from P 7.65 million to P9.60 million.
