Once a convenient stopover for commuters who needed to get a ride at the EDSA-Shaw Boulevard crossing, Edsa Central is now experiencing a rebirth. These days, people are converging at the commercial center not only because it serves as a midway point to their daily commute but because people are discovering that the improved, modern Edsa Central has now become a total shopping and entertainment destination.

Greenfield Development Corp. undertook the refurbishing of the 8-hectare Edsa Central Complex as part of an integrated modernization and expansion plan for the Greenfield District in Mandaluyong City. Back in the 70’s, at a time when the Edsa and Shaw area consisted mostly of cogonal land a few scattered buildings, the Edsa Central served as Metro Manila’s main bargain haven and quickly became an urban landmark. Since new malls began sprouting in the area in recent years, the developers decided to give the "crossing mall" a major makeover.

And what a remarkable transformation: the anchor mall, called the Edsa Central Pavilion, now looks very modern and sleek. The air-conditioned structure was built with reinforced frosted glass as windows and a curved ultra-high ceiling to give the emporium an airy, expansive, illuminated feel. The open space at the ground level serves as a mini-park complete with water feature, planters and benches where weary travelers and shoppers can stop and rest awhile. On the 2nd level is the 3,000-sq.m. Food Central area where mallgoers can choose from premium food outlets that offer delicious and varied fare. At the food court balcony is the unique al fresco dining section that looks out over the entire Edsa Central.

The Edsa Central Pavilion ensures pleasurable value shopping experience. New generation shoppers will be pleasured with the addition of boutiques that offer the latest in fashion and other types of merchandise like Nike, Otto Shoes, Lee USA, Work Station, Dickies USA, Blues Brothers, Wrangler, Leaveland, My Dollar Store and others. On the ground floor, avid shoppers can dine in popular fastfood stores like Jollibee, KFC, Chowking, and French Baker.
