Stage is set for Worldbex 2004

World Services International (WSI) is all set to energize the local construction industry by mounting the biggest construction trade fair – the World Building and Construction Exposition or Worldbex 2004 from March 16-20 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

Now on its 9th year, Worldbex 2004 remains Asia’s largest and most attended construction trade exhibit which brings together building and construction exhibitors from different countries worldwide. The event is made even more interesting by a series of seminar on building and construction technology delivered by some of the world’s experts.

Already, some 700 exhibitors of various construction products and services which have signed up. An estimated 40,000 guests are expected to visit Worldbex 2004 who will be admitted for free.

"A lot of big names in the construction industry are participating in the event so there is no doubt that Worldbex 2004 is going to be another success," assured Joseph Ang, founding chairman of Worldbex Services Services International (WSI), the event organizer.

One highlight of the trade exhibit is the first ever "Gayak Pilipino," a 550 sq.m. model house designed by noted Architect Delfin Viola III with the interiors designed separately by top luminaries in the field namely: Gerry Contreras, Johnny Hubilla, Suzette Cocuaco, Leo Almeria, Angeles Gonzalez-Hager, Arlen de Guzman, Songsong + Periquet, and Benny Marasigan.

"This is the first time top architects and interior designers will be working on one project, "Gayak Pilipino" will be a wonderful site to catch tips in home decorating and architecture from experts," explained Ang.

Meanwhile The Worldbex Seminars scheduled on March 17 to 18 at the Philippine Trade and Training Center (PTTC) will feature professional resource speakers from different countries.

The first speaker on March 17 is John S. Richards, director of Emerald Sales Center Corporation, consultant of Emerald Systems and "TLX" Technical Lighting Philippines. Richards will give lighting techniques for architects.

A product of Harvard University, Architect Rolando Miranda of R.T.M. Design Group will be giving a lecture discussion entitled "Design: The Cutting Edge". Miranda will discuss ideas and style in architectural design. Another resource speaker at the Worldbex Seminars is Rodd Eddy, president and CEO of OSRAM Philippines, who will give a presentation themed a"Creating Tomorrow Through Lamp Innovation."

Mark Faulkner, chairman and president of the air-conditioning manufacturing giant Carrier, and Lucia C. Limson who is involved in design, installation, value engineering, product application, sales and marketing of Commercial and Applied Carrier equipment and systems, will give updates on technological advancements in air-conditioning systems in a joint presentation "New Technology Advances in A/C".

Philip J. Thoburn, co-founder of the Fors-sman Group, president of Forssman Pacific and director of Fors-sman Hong Kong Ltd., will give a presentation on "Spatial Coordination and Impact on Cost and Quality". His experience encompasses a number of prominent buildings in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Philippines.
