From tree house to dream house, man has always aspired for his version of an ideal dwelling equipped with all sorts of creature comforts. With Mt. Malarayat Golf & Country Club and Residential Estates, that primal desire has become a reality. This is what dreams are made of, combining the lush expanse of a world-class fairway, the amenities of a luxury hotel and the leisure of high living in a well-planned residential enclave. Covering more than 185 hectares in Lipa City, Batangas, Mt. Malarayat, is the centerpiece leisure and residential development of the Active Group.
"The inspiration of the club is really the site itself. As architects with a lot of respect for the environment, we are able to visualize the end product even before a single stone has been turned," says Antonio "Toti" V. Turalba Jr., president of the Active Group.
The Active Groups main concern in developing Malarayat was to preserve the natural beauty f the site, a sprawling plantation property at the foot of the imposing Mt. Malarayat mountain range overgrown with natural vegetation. The clubs substantial structures, evoking the charms of elegant plantation mansions are tucked between groves of trees. Built in stylized renditions of the traditional bahay na bato, the imposing structures feature such design elements as capiz panels and ventanillas. This ingenious interplay of modern architecture and time-honored decorative details earned the club the Design Award in Architecture from the United Architects of the Phils.
The club boasts of a swimming pool complex, gym, equestrian center, various facilities for indoor sports such as basketball, billiards, bowling, darts, ping-pong, tennis and squash. There is also a childrens center designed like a childrens clubhouse complete with changing rooms, spacious play areas, computer stations and a snack bar.
True to its builders commitment to the environment, Mt. Malarayat features generous expanses of greenery such as parks, gardens, wooded pathways and numerous lakes that provide members more than an eyeful of refreshing and scenic views.
The pride and joy of Mt. Malarayat is its unique 27-hole all-weather championship golf course designed by the internationally renowned J. Michael Poellet Design Group. Extolling its impeccable design, Golf Magazine voted the courses Mount Makulot Par 5 Hole Number 7 as among the "The Top 500 Best Holes in the World."
