When La Finca Farm and Country Resort in Lipa City, Batangas opened its doors to the public a year ago, foremost on its list of recreatiional goals is to create activities that will cultivate family ties and neighborhood camaraderie.
Just recently, La Finca marked the fulfilllment of this important goal with the completion of its three-part fishpond. Nestling right at the heart of its 2,200-square meter activity hub, the fishpond now offers residents along with their families and friends an opportunity to indulge in a fun-filled pastime of hobby fishing.
Fishing enthusiasts are provided with hooks and baits for a good catch of tilapia, dalag or hito. After the seemingly restful fishing expeditions, they all can enjoy sampling their grilled catch at La Fincas picnic grove complete with barbeque pits. To cap off a relaxing afternoon, all may stroll at the leisure walkways that crosses over the fishpond and ends at the gazebo. All these come amidst the fruit and coconut trees that proudly abound throughout the vicinity.
According to sales and marketing director Lisette Baltazar, La Finca is no longer the residential hideaway it used to be, "I should say it is a complete weekend getaway. Apart from hobby fishing, we will be hosting weekly activities for the whole family. We want people to know that La Finca also serves as a venue for family gatherings and special parties because its exclusivity and has a naturally cool environment."
La Finca is undoubtedly bustling with activity. In fact, it just played host to the awarding ceremonies of the successfully held golf tournament at Mount Malarayat Golf and Country Club which is five minutes away from La Finca. The sporting event that marked the launching of Isang Hirit Pa Christmas Fund Drive spearheaded by former Lipa City Mayor Ruben Umali for the benefit of Lipenos, was the first of La Fincas sponsored private functions.
