A subsidiary of Nishimatsu Construction Co. Ltd., one of the biggest construction companies in Japan and throughout the world, will construct the Nova Star Residence Hotel in Pasay City.
Western Philippine Corp. (WPC), a key player in the local construction industry since it was established in 1989 by Nishimatsu, was awarded the contract to build the condotel.
Construction site is the corner of Harrison and Fernandez Aves., Pasay City, near the intersection of Roxas Blvd. and EDSA leading to Boulevard 2000. The contract was signed by Flor Alano, Nova Star president, and lawyer Alfredo C. Lim, WPC president. A separate contract was signed with Rogelio G. Gernale, president of Gernale Electrical Contractor Corp. for the electrical and specialty works. Executives of the three companies witnessed the contract signing held at Linden Suites, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
WPCs latest construction jobs include the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Passenger Terminal II and the development of the reclaimed area for the future SM Mall of Asia at the Manila Bay Reclamation Project or Boulevard 2000 in a joint undertaking with D. M. Consunji, Inc.
Construction work is expected to be in full swing soon on Phase 1 consisting of the first four floors where the commercial units are located and later, on Phase 2, from the 5th to the 15th floors, consisting of 171 studio-type and 47 one-bedroom units or a total of 281 fully furnished units when completed.
State-of-the art amenities include a swimming pool, functions room, gym, commercial podium, Spa, which are at par with the best in the world, said Architect Bong Arguelles. "Unit owners have the option either to live in their units or pool them with those to be leased out by Swiss-Belhotel International, said Mrs. Ma. Ana H. Guanio, vice president for finance. "A unit owner may live in it or earn from it. Either way, he wins," she added.
