Housing agency picks new EVP

The board of directors of the National Home Mortgage Finance Corp. (NHMFC) has appointed lawyer-accountant Fermin T. Arzaga, as NHMFC’s new executive vice president.

A career executive service officer, Arzaga has been a member of NHMFC senior management for 13 years, specializing in the financial operations of the government-owned-and-controlled corporation prior to his new appointment, according to lawyer Angelico T. Salud, NHMFC president.

A certified public accountant, Arzaga took up masteral studies in business administration and is a member of the Philippine bar.

As one of NHMFC’s senior officers, Arzaga served at various times, as vice president for: finance and corporate planning; fund management; credit and collection; and until recently, as senior vice president for finance sector.

Prior to this, Arzaga also served as manager, controllership; executive assistant; and chief of accounting division, all with NHMFC for a continuous service totaling 20 years.

Before his stint at NHMFC which started in 1983, Arzaga worked as investment analyst with the AFP Retirement and Separation Benefits System; and as internal auditor with Vetronix, Inc.
