SM Lucena breaks ground

Top Lucena City officials led by Mayor Ramon Talaga recently took part in groundbreaking of SM City Lucena.

Located at Dalahican corner Pagbilao National Road in Lucena City, this SM Prime Holdings supermall is expected to be operational by 2003. The three level 72,056 square meter mall will bring SM’s shopping, leisure, and entertainment excitement to the Southern Tagalog region. It will also be a catalyst for investment and employment opportunities in the area.

When completed, its features will include a SM Department Store, a supermarket, a food court, four cinemas, and junior anchor stores, as well as shops and restaurants.

SM City Lucena has G & W Architects for its architectural design, DA Abcede & Associates for its project manager, Monolith Construction and Development Corporation for its General Contractor, and Design Associates as its mall designer.

Among those who attended the groundbreaking were Mayor Talaga; city Councilors Willy Asilo, Dan Zaballero, Buena Lequin, Oway Garcia, and Vic Paulo; city administrator Juliet Villanueva; and Barangay Ibabang Dupay Chairman Boy Jaca. They were joined by SM officials led by Hans T. Sy.

SM Prime will be opening two supermalls during the latter quarter of this year – SM Cagayan de Oro in the Mindanao region, and SM City Bicutan in the southern metro area.
