What does the word really mean?
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) defines globalization as the "growing interdependence of countries worldwide through the increasing volume and variety of cross-border transactions in goods and services and international capital flows, and also through the more rapid and widespread diffusion of technology.
The process therefore calls for education and training, productivity and competitiveness, cooperation and integration and, of course, business harmony.
CREBA has decided to go international so that local investment opportunities could be extended to our kababayan (fellow, Filipinos) abroad as well as to foreign investors. We are aware of the long and winding road ahead of us. But taking one daring and difficult step toward this end is a must for growth. CREBA now explores all windows and avenues for global marketing through the formation of international chapters in the United States, Canada, Europe and the ASEAN countries. Road shows, trade missions and other marketing programs are being mapped out to stimulate and sustain multi-faceted transactions.
The Philippine Catalogue and Website will serve as CREBAs tool for global marketing. It will contain a comprehensive list of real estate projects duly licensed by the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB). Arranged by regions and provinces, the catalogue will be an index to residential projects, commercial and industrial sites, club shares, tourist spots, retirement facilities, and major infrastructure projects in the country.
Foreign investors will find this publication a handy business tool as it serves as a reliable link to landowners and real estate developers who can offer the best investment sites in the country. It will be distributed to embassies, consulates, trade organizations, and Filipino associations and corporations here and abroad. The website, on the other hand, will contain additional information about each project listed in the catalogue, including selection procedure and terms of payment.
Participating developers, allied entities and advertisers will have the privilege to join CREBAs road shows, conferences and presentations abroad. For more details about the catalogue and website, please call up Techie Bautista, editor-in-chief, Telephone 373-2266 to 75.
