Some years back, we received requests from our readers for a more accurate account of vehicle sales in the country considering that most sales reports being published have been confusingly different coming from various sources.
That was also during that time when we decided to include actual vehicle sales combined with public votes to determine the most popular vehicle models in the country for the yearly Auto Focus People’s Choice Awards.
In consultation with some key auto industry executives, we learned that the closest we can get to the actual sales performance of the auto industry is to access the nationwide vehicle registration reports of the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
Since then, in cooperation with STRADCOM, the official IT provider of the LTO, we have been publishing through this column these documented report of actual motor vehicle registration throughout the country from the LTO.
