EcoSport hits record sales
MANILA, Philippines – Ford Philippines recently announced July retail sales of 1,705 units, helping drive its year-to-date performance up 15 percent to 12,132 units.
Ford’s overall July sales were driven by continued strength in demand for the popular Ranger and EcoSport.
“We’re pleased that our momentum continued through July as Filipinos show their confidence in the Ford brand and appreciation for the way our global Ford vehicles, particularly the Ranger and the EcoSport, are meeting their lifestyle and transportation needs,” said Kay Hart, managing director, Ford Philippines.
The Ranger has remained the country’s bestselling pickup truck this year, with July retail sales delivering 557 units and bringing its year-to-date performance up 24 percent to 4,884 units.
This month, Ford will unveil its new tough and smart Ford Ranger, setting a new benchmark in the pickup truck segment with an uncompromised blend of robust capability, craftsmanship and advanced technology. Featuring a new front end look, a stylish and functional new interior, and a host of safety technologies and smart features, the new Ranger builds upon a reputation of capability, innovation and comfort that has helped the Ranger to stand apart from traditional pickup trucks. Customer deliveries will start in September.
“The new Ford Ranger brings a whole new level of refinement and comfort to its segment without compromising on the rugged and tough capability that our Filipino customers expect. With our proud truck heritage and global expertise in the utility segment, we’ve made what is great even better,” said Hart.
The popular EcoSport achieved record sales in July with retail sales rising 59 percent to 833 units, delivering its best month ever since being launched in the Philippines last year. Year-to-date sales of the compact SUV now total 4,966 units.
The sporty Fiesta contributed to the July performance with sales increasing 10 percent to 153 units, helping drive its year-to-date sales to 867 units. The high-performance 1.0L EcoBoost engine delivers the power and performance of a traditional 1.6L engine with fuel economy gains of up to 20 percent and was again accorded multiple awards at the recently-held 2015 International Engine of the Year Awards in Germany.
Ford is also set to start retail sales of the all-new Everest in first week September. Arguably one of the automaker’s widely-popular SUVs, the all-new Everest marks a bold new direction for Ford in the mid-size SUV segment and is set to challenge what customers can expect from their traditional SUV.
The 7-seater SUV blends strength, smart features and style to bring consumers a tough and versatile SUV with true off-road capability. The all-new Ford Everest comes in five variants and deliveries will begin in September with the following price points:
• 2.2L 4x2 Ambiente MT at P1,339,000
• 2.2L 4x2 Ambiente AT at P1,399,000

Ford is also offering an optional Premium Package to the 3.2L 4X4 Everest Titanium that comes with additional features such as HID Projector Type Headlamps, Power Fold 3rd Row Seat and Power Liftgate, Panoramic Moon Roof, Collision Mitigation and Active Park Assist, among others. Customers who want to avail of this entire premium package will only need to add P100,000 to the retail price of the 3.2L 4x4 Everest Titanium.
This month, Ford will also celebrate the 20th anniversary and the reopening of its Ford EDSA dealership – the first Ford dealership to open in the country two decades ago. Ford is on track with its dealership network expansion plan to open 40 locations by year end.
