Kia kicks off 2014 World Cup with football-themed road show
Every four years, countries from all corners of the globe mark the start of FIFA World Cup, the grandest football event there is. The worldwide celebration of the sport has long been sponsored by Kia.
And now, Columbian Autocar Corporation (CAC) will bring this sensational football experience to its Filipino supporters. As the exclusive distributor of Kia Motors in the Philippines, CAC has organized a World Cup-themed test-drive event tagged as the Kia World Cup Road Show. As Official Partner of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, Kia and CAC put together a number of fun activities and exciting prizes that both motoring enthusiasts and football fans enjoyed.
Ginia R. Domingo, CAC president, reveals how the Korean automaker giant wanted to underline the World Cup experience and still tie it in to activities that motoring fans can relate to. “As an automotive company, road shows aimed to bring the brand closer to people are a staple in our line-up of events. This time, however, Kia also wanted to touch base with the football community and let them be a part of this global enthusiasm for the 2014 World Cup. Hence, Kia World Cup Road Show was born.â€
Domingo adds, “Football is consistently gaining ground in the country, especially now with the Philippine Azkals’ steady rise in world rankings and the many available tournaments for the youth and non-professionals. The road show kicked off in SM Mall of Asia last March and was immediately followed by a pit stop during the Manila International Auto Show– one of the country’s biggest and most sought-after motoring events, last April. Kia’s roving display and test drive also made a stop last April at SM Southmall and will close its nationwide tour at SM Davao on June 26.
