Mazda6 earns top safety ratings in Japan, USA and Europe

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The new Mazda6 has been awarded the maximum five-star overall rating by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s new car assessment program (NCAP). With this latest result, the all-new Mazda6 adopting Mazda’s next-generation lightweight and high-rigidity SKYACTIV-Body, has now received the highest possible safety ratings from Japan, the USA and Europe.

All-new Mazda6 has received the following assessments. (Overall safety ratings are shown.)

The all-new Mazda6 is Mazda’s flagship model, fully adopting the company’s next-generation SKYACTIV technology and new design theme, KODO-Soul of Motion. Since its launch in the Philippines during the Manila International Auto Show 2013, the model has received high acclaim for its dynamic design, and its ability to deliver both exceptional environmental and safety performance, and powerful and exhilarating driving. Mazda6 was also awarded the Philippine Car of The Year 2013-2014, and Top Gear’s Car of The Year. The model’s excellent safety performance has now been verified by third-party assessments in Japan, the USA and Europe.

“We are proud of this latest recognition given to the Mazda 6,” said Steven Tan, president and CEO of Berjaya Auto Philippines, the distributors of Mazda vehicles in the country. Tan adds, “It only goes to show that SKYACTIV technology, which is present in Mazda’s latest models, represents the best synergy of design chassis, performance, and fuel economy in a vehicle that is currently available to the Filipino motorist.”
