Mitsubishi introduces 2014 Strada 4x4 GLS Sport V

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Mitsubishi Motors Phils. Corp. (MMPC) makes the Strada GLS Sport V more exciting with the release of its 2014 Strada GLS Sport V four wheel drive (4WD) variants. The Strada GLS Sport V 4WD which is a completely built unit from Thailand is available in manual or automatic transmission.

Several exterior and interior enhancement and accessories were added to the Strada GLS Sport V to make it look even more sporty and rugged while keeping its versatility.  The front radiator grille now flaunts a new chrome design and the front bumper’s new color keyed with silver painted garnish reflect an added appeal and masculine stance to the Strada GLS Sport V.  The projector type halogen headlamps, front fog lamps and dealer option Ralliart front skid plate also get a refreshed design. Adding to its active character is the exclusive trendy lower body tattoo.

Another new feature of the 2014 Strada GLS Sport V is the dealer option electronic-dual lift type cargo bed cover. This high quality and weather proof cargo bed cover will ensure that items on the cargo bed are protected.  Truly, these new features make the Strada the perfect double cab pickup whether for family use or as business workhorse.

Similar to the Montero Sport, the Strada GLS Sport V is powered by the 4D56 2.5 liter DOHC 16-valve common rail direct injection diesel with Variable Geometry Turbocharger and Intercooler that produces a maximum power of 178Ps/4000rpm and a maximum torque of 400 N-m for the manual transmission or 350N-m/1,800~3,500rpm for the 5-speed automatic variant. The Strada’s wheelbase of 3000mm, front tread of 1,520mm and rear tread of 1,515mm are set to improve both handling stability without sacrificing ride comfort for daily drives or those out-of-town sprints. These front tread dimensions also provide increase in maximum steering angle that permits a class-leading minimum turning radius of 5.9m making it highly maneuverable even on narrow roads.

The Strada GLS Sport V is also equipped with a fully-integrated information and entertainment system which features GPS Navigation, Vehicle Information Display and Multimedia Entertainment System. This comes in a user-friendly module which allows the driver to easily navigate his way even at urban or rural areas with the built-in GPS navigation system.  It can also display various useful information such as fuel consumption, outside temperature, average speed and drive range among others.

Beyond Strada’s good look is its distinct safety features recognized by the European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP) and its Australian counterpart.  This can be attributed to the Strada’s comprehensive safety system that offers all the occupants a greatly improved all-around collision protection.  Mitsubishi’s exclusive Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body construction incorporates front and rear crumple zones with reinforced beams to absorb collision force and direct it away from the vehicle’s interior. The engine and drive components also absorb energy, preventing further damage from reaching the cabin. The Strada has highly rigid body framework that is efficient in terms of absorbing impact energy.

The Strada GLS Sport V is available in seven colors: Gemstone Grey Mica, Cool Silver, Rosita Red, Mystic Blue, Virgil Gray, Polar White and Pyrenese Black. Suggested retail price for the manual transmission is P1,280,000 while the top of the line automatic transmission is P1,380,000. MMPC will back it up with a 3-year or 100,000 kilometer warranty.
