CATS Motors unveils Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG and CLA 45 AMG

MANILA, Philippines - The Mercedes-Benz Greenhills showroom turned into an ultimate dream AMG garage with the latest powerful machines from Mercedes-AMG. Felix Ang, president of CATS Motors, Inc. says that the “A 45 and CLA 45 AMG provide an exciting introduction to the world of AMG. For the first time in the company’s history extending back over 45 years, AMG is offering two high-performance vehicles powered by a four-cylinder engine.”

The intimate and exclusive gathering of sports car enthusiasts and AMG fans were given a taste of what it is really like to be part of the AMG family, starting with the introduction of the AMG Driving Academy and AMG Private Lounge.

CATS Motors’ campaign is very much in line with the high-performance brand’s “AMG Performance 50” strategy in the run-up to the 50th year of Mercedes-AMG GmbH in 2017. The world premieres of 18 new AMG high-performance models, which began mid last year, “reflects Mercedes-AMG’s consistent focus on performance, dynamism and growth,” according to Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

With a power output spectrum ranging from 360hp to 751hp, sports car and AMG enthusiasts can expect more special events and exciting products from Mercedes-AMG.

AMG Exclusive Programs

The AMG Driving Academy offers training courses and events at legendary tracks around the globe, with all AMG high-performance models (depending on the event), with experienced instructors who are master of their craft like Bernd Schneider, Karl Wendlinger and Bernd Mayländer, and with other AMG owners from different continents. AMG owners can hone skills as a hobby racer and enjoy unforgettable experiences on and off the track.

The AMG Private Lounge, on the other hand, is a Global Marketing Communications tool targeting AMG owners through an experienced based web property. AMG Private Lounge members gain access to AMG content such as exclusive articles, pictures, videos and membership into the official online community – the AMG Private Lounge forum. This Discussion Board offers a place for clients to share their AMG experiences, receive behind the scene information on current and upcoming vehicles, gain access to special AMG events and even offer unique opportunities for members to communicate with Mercedes-AMG headquarters directly. Access to the AMG Private Lounge is restricted to AMG owners only.

The new A 45 AMG and CLA 45 AMG

For the first time in the company’s history extending back over 45 years, AMG is offering two high-performance vehicles powered by a four-cylinder engine. Both new models provide an exciting introduction to the world of AMG as both are targeted to a new and younger market.

The A 45 AMG and CLA 45 AMG offer a fascinatingly sporty driving experience, characterised by impressive craftsmanship and individuality. Both new four-cylinder models feature the hallmark AMG DNA, of course, largely down to the fact that during design and development the Mercedes-AMG experts were able to draw on all their experience in motorsport and the construction of powerful high-performance cars and components gained over the past decade. BlueDIRECT turbo engine, all-wheel drive and AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission – the A 45 AMG and CLA 45 AMG boast an extremely attractive, dynamic and efficient drive configuration.

Dynamic and individual cars for new target groups

The A 45 AMG and CLA 45 AMG target groups are younger than the previous AMG customers. Professionally successful and independent, the customers are looking for dynamic and individual cars. Typically AMG: the most powerful series-production four-cylinder turbo engine in the world

Two figures show that the A 45 AMG and CLA 45 hold pole position in their displacement segment: the newly developed AMG 2.0-litre turbo engine is the most powerful series-production four-cylinder turbo engine in the world. A maximum output of 360hp and up to 450 Newton-meters of torque are unmatched by any other mass-produced turbocharged four-cylinder engine worldwide. The power density of 180hp per liter of displacement puts the AMG high-performance turbo engine on par with the world’s most powerful super sports cars.

The high output and torque coupled with the performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive fitted as standard make for extremely dynamic performance: both the A 45 AMG and the CLA 45 AMG complete the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and have a top speed of 270 km/h (with AMG Driver’s Package). With a fuel consumption of 6.9 litres per 100 kilometres (NEDC combined), the new high-performance cars from Affalterbach are exceptionally efficient and lead the way in their segments.
