The Philippine Star

Künzelsau, Germany—The Würth Group announces its donation of EUR 50,000 (P2.9 million) to help the people impacted by the recent super-typhoon “Yolanda.” A large part of the donation will be made to aid organization “Ärzte ohne Grenzen e.V.” (Doctors Without Borders) providing those affected with medical treatment, clean water and emergency shelters as well as handing out relief supplies. The Filipino subsidiary of the Würth Group, Wuerth Philippines, Inc., will receive the remaining funds to help employees who have been hit by the typhoon. Wuerth Philippines is the exclusive importer and distributor of Würth line of automotive, construction and industrial tools, chemicals, lubricants and equipment in the country.

As a worldwide operating business, the Würth Group has always been committed to its social responsibility as a global citizen.  “With our donation we wish to relieve the distress of the people in the affected areas as well as make a contribution to supplying the people in need on the Philippines with the essentials of life”, explains Norbert Heckmann, Chairman of Adolf Würth GmbH und Co. KG. The management and the Council of Confidence of Adolf Würth GmbH und Co. KG therefore jointly decided to donate.

“In addition to the amount provided by the company, we organized a donation campaign to offer our employees the opportunity to donate as well. We hope to raise additional funds with the help of our colleagues in the coming days,” says Andreas Lang, Chairman of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG’s Council of Confidence and coordinator of the donation campaign for the staff.

With its parent company support, Wuerth Philippines has expressed its gratitude as well as its commitment to contribute in the process of recovery and rebuilding in the Visayas. “We express our heartfelt gratitude to the members of the board of our mother company for this generous act in support of the victims of typhoon Yolanda” said Ariel de Jesus, managing director of Wuerth Philippines Incorporated. “We know that this is a big help to the members of Doctors Without Borders who have been tirelessly bringing much needed medical help to the affected communities,” he added.

Since the start of its operation in the Philippines in 1996, Wuerth Philippines has successfully established Würth as a trusted brand in the field of automotive after-sales. Its leading producs such as the Sabesto Brake Cleaner, HHS 2000, Sabesto Rost Off Plus as well as its automotive tools and equipment have revolutionized the after sales industry by raising awareness on the importance of using high-quality chemicals, lubricants and other products in auto workshops and service centers.
