The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - On behalf of the global Bridgestone Group, Bridgestone Asia Pacific would like to express their sincere condolences and their wishes of rapid recovery to the people and areas affected by Typhoon Yolanda. Bridgestone has nurtured a long-standing relationship with the Philippines since 1953, which has been part of Bridgestone’s global family for 60 years.

Bridgestone Asia Pacific President, Shinichi Sato has this message: “During this time of pain and suffering, please be assured that we share in your sorrow. We continue to have faith that the same resilience that has brought the Philippines through many difficult times in the past, will provide the same strength and comfort to overcome all odds, especially at times like these.”

In support of the relief and recovery efforts from the devastation of Typhoon Yolanda, Bridgestone Asia Pacific, donated Singapore $50,000 or approximately 1.7 million pesos, via the Singapore Red Cross, on 12 November 2013. On the same day, in support of the same cause, the Bridgestone Corporation announced that they will donate an additional 10 million yen or approximately 4.4 million pesos in aid, via the Japanese Red Cross.
