Honda Cars Makati, Inc. (HCMI) takes great pride in its service technicians and advisors as they bagged 7 out of the 9 major awards in the recently concluded 12th National Technicians’ Contest (NTC) conducted by Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI).
HCMI bested 28 dealers nationwide in three contest categories, namely, the Service Advisor Category, Conventional Category and the Team Category. Each category involved written and practical examinations to test the technical know-how and customer handling skills of the participants. Likewise, teams were subjected to simulation of dealership situations which involved reception handling and diagnostic skills, relaying of information from the service advisor to the technician and troubleshooting skills.
The HCMI team came prepared for a battle of skills and knowledge after two months of rigorous training. As a result, HCMI swept the awards in the Service Advisor category with Sir Franco Manlulu of Honda Cars Shaw emerging as the champion and Regalado Tuquero Jr. of Honda Cars Makati and Christian Bernard Betonio of Honda Cars Alabang as the 1st and 2nd runners-up, respectively.
Meanwhile, in the Conventional category, Wilson Mayani of Honda Cars Shaw got the championship while Arnel Joyosa of Honda Cars Alabang was hailed as the 2nd runner-up.
Honda Cars Alabang continued to raise the bar of achievement as it scored another championship for HCMI in the Team Category. The formidable tandem and outstanding teamwork of Christian Bernard Betonio and Arnel Joyosa earned HCMI its third championship trophy in this year’s competition. Likewise, Howard Rosales and Emmanuel Bago of Honda Cars Pasig emerged as the 2nd runner-up in the same category.
The National Technicians’ Contest was first held in 1994 and, through the years, HCMI has always been one of the strongest contenders. HCMI has received 35 major awards to date.
Hence, the result of this competition strongly reflects HCMI’s commitment to service excellence.
