Toyota records highest sales total in 1st 11 months of 2012
MANILA, Philippines - Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) announced early this week that it has already broken its highest annual sales in just the first 11 months of the year. Based on the most recent CAMPI report, TMP sold a total 58,890 units (including Lexus) with a 34.6 percent market share.
Moreover, the manufacturer is poised to take home its 11th consecutive Triple Crown with the top spot in the Passenger Car segment with 30.8 percent market share, Commercial Vehicle segment with 36.8 percent market share and in overall sales.
November sales played a key role in the manufacturer’s success as it posted a growth of 9 percent from the same period of last year. Toyota registered 5,740 units sold last month, maintaining its top spot in both the PC and CV segments.
The Toyota Vios continues to be the bestselling vehicle in the country while the Toyota Innova remains to be the most preferred Commercial Vehicle. Likewise, the Toyota Fortuner continues its strong performance and ended the month as the bestselling SUV in the country once again.
Since it experienced limitations in supply due to the Great Eastern earthquake in Japan and flooding in Thailand a year ago, the manufacturer has shown signs of full recovery and supply normalization. It has been able to serve the market’s growing demand for vehicles experienced this year.
In a statement, TMP president Mr. Michinobu Sugata said that “Throughout this year, TMP has achieved several milestones. Just this November, we have experienced our highest yearly sales record in just 11 months. I am very happy as this is a clear sign that our customers continue to trust our ability to deliver the best products and services possible. On behalf of TMP, I would like to thank the Filipino people for trusting us for nearly 25 years. The support they have shown us is what drives us to move forward and serve them even better.”
