Nissan drives the FUN at the 4th PIMS

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Nissan Motor Philippines, Inc. showed how it drives the fun at the recently concluded 4th Philippine International Motor Show organized by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers Inc. (CAMPI). Nissan’s booth was designed to be a one-stop venue for car enthusiasts to get a glimpse of the Nissan brand experience all throughout the four-day event.

A crowd drawer in its own right, Nissan further enticed the attention of the guests with its own version of flash mob followed by the appealing presence of the famous Filipina cosplayer, model, and host Alodia Gosengfiao leading the program. The audience feasted their sights on Nissan vehicles which included the Grand Livina Highway Star, X-Trail Highway Star, and a preview of the upcoming Nissan Almera.

“Our dedication for advancement in manufacturing and assembling Nissan cars and SUVs in the Philippines are very apparent at our display for this year’s PIMS. You’ll feel our passion for performance every time you get behind the wheel of any Nissan vehicle, including the ones displayed today—the perfect urban getaway vehicle Grand Livina Highway Star that offers comfort and flexibility, the adventurous X-TRAIL Highway Star with intelligent capability and sporty yet muscular exteriors, and the meticulously designed Teana which redefined elegance and luxury in its segment,” Allen Chen, NMPI president, said in his opening speech.

“We are also excited to showcase the Nissan Almera—NMPI’s newest entry to the B-segment sedan. Boasting best-in-class comfort and space, this vehicle has been successfully launched in Thailand, India and China—and will soon be introduced in the Philippine market,” he added.

Adding highlight to this year’s PIMS, Nissan brought in its supercar, the Nissan 370Z, to further drive its point of how Nissan builds and complete the brand experience through its vehicles and the technology behind them. Together with it, Nissan showed how Filipinos add flavor in building the brand and continuing its heritage by bringing in the brains behind the design of this high-performance vehicle, Randy Rodriguez.

A Filipino born and raised in Canada, Rodriguez came home to the Philippines to share the same passion for vehicles with his kababayans at this year’s PIMS. He is currently working at the Nissan Design Center in San Diego, California and has been an avid fan of Nissan and its Z models since he was 14 years old.

Nissan’s iconic 370Z model not only completes the list of Nissan’s display but fulfills the promise of showcasing Nissan’s fun-to-drive vehicles. As Rodriguez described his concept, “The 370Z is more dynamic and emotional with a bigger chest, flexed muscles, and a more aggressive stance.”

“As part of the Nissan team, we put a great part of ourselves in everything we do. We find ways to design and produce vehicles that would be as valuable to you as it is to us. Passion, pleasure, practicality, and performance are the four pillars to which upon every Nissan vehicle is manufactured,” he points out. “We don’t just produce vehicles; we build dreams for our customers with every vehicle meticulously crafted to ensure that every Nissan experience is fun and pleasurable. We aim for every Nissan vehicle to Shift the Way You Move regardless of what you do and where you go.”
