Isuzu Philippines delivers the best Alterra yet in the Urban Cruiser X
MANILA, Philippines - The best Alterra has arrived. Isuzu Philippines Corporation’s (IPC) flagship SUV model now boasts of even more premium features in its 2013 Isuzu Alterra Urban Cruiser X version, offering the best value in the country’s full-size SUV segment. With its new range of equipment, the model becomes an excellent choice for young professionals and entrepreneurs who are seeking an SUV that carries an image of superiority and youthfulness.
The Alterra Urban Cruiser X’s new features are intended to be the best in the vehicle’s class and come from the best brands. Included in the model’s class-leading package is an entertainment system from Kenwood, which features a DNX7380BT audio/video head unit with a built-in 7-inch touch-panel monitor, an iPod direct connector, Bluetooth connectivity, CMPEG capability, and an SD card reader. Powerful 240-watt front speakers with additional tweeters and 280-watt rear speakers ensure a true surround experience. Passengers in the back also get new black, headrest-mounted, high-definition LCD monitors. The system has a navigation-ready device as a dealer option.
Also added to the latest Alterra version’s interior are classy black leather trim that are matched with black wood-grain accents which give the vehicle a sophisticated and luxurious feel.
The 2013 Alterra Urban Cruiser X’s exterior is likewise set apart by new exterior features. New are an elegantly rugged front chin spoiler, a European-inspired rear chin spoiler, smoked headlamps that accentuate the Alterra’s projector headlamps, redesigned fog lamp garnishes that sport sharper edges, step boards now finished in black, attractive yet functional rear spoiler with integrated high-mount LED stop lamps with clear lenses, and smoked combination taillight clusters with chrome accents. All these new features update the Alterra’s premium styling, while the vehicle’s two-eye reverse sensors and wide-range reverse camera (which displays images in the entertainment system’s touchscreen monitor), aid the driver in backing up in parking spaces and other tight spots.
“The Isuzu Alterra has built a reputation for its combination of utility and luxury, of performance and fuel efficiency, of reliability and styling,” IPC President Ryoji Yamazaki said. “In the 2013 Isuzu Alterra Urban Cruiser X, these attributes are enhanced as the model receives additional premium features which are poised to set the standard in the full-size SUV class,” he added.
Powering the Alterra is Isuzu’s 4JJ1-TC-iTEQ 3.0-liter diesel engine that complies with Euro 3 emissions standards. Equipped with a turbocharger and intercooler plus a common rail direct injection (CRDi) system, the engine produces 146 ps and 294 Nm of torque. On urban roads and rough terrain, ride comfort is ensured by the Alterra’s independent double wishbone with torsion bar springs and stabilizer bar front suspension and Isuzu’s patented Flex Ride MOVE suspension with semi-elliptical leaf springs with telescopic shock absorbers in the rear. Safety is addressed by ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and G-Sensor (for 4x4), dual airbags, and seatbelts for all passengers.
Available in four-wheel drive with four-speed automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive with four-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive with five-speed manual transmission, the 2013 Alterra Urban Cruiser X is offered in Starry Black, Mineral Gray and Silky Pearl White colors with optional pearl finish.
Prices start at P1,528,000 for the monotone 4x2 MT and P1,540,000 with pearl option; P1,585,000 for the monotone 4x2 AT and P1,595,000 with pearl option; and P1,718,000 for the 4x4 AT and P1,728,000 with pearl option.
The 2013 Alterra Urban Cruiser X is now available at all IPC dealerships nationwide.
