MANILA, Philippines - Driver-centric cockpits of the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Honda CR-Z sport-compact hybrid look surprisingly similar. Both highlight a thick, 3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel (with multimedia/cruise controls on the CR-Z and Ferrari’s F1-inspired manettino switches on the 458). Dead center are the big analog tachometers with a digital gear lever display. Even the wide use of rotary knobs and the placement of the aircon vents are uncannily similar. The only difference is in the secondary gauges: Ferrari uses traditional analog while Honda goes digital (a necessity for its hybrid drivetrain).
