Honda Cars Phils. suspends production temporarily

-

MANILA, Philippines - Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (HATC), the Honda automobile production subsidiary in Thailand (headquartered in the Rojana Industrial Park, Ayutthaya province) has suspended production since October 4, due to parts supply disruptions. As of October 31, HATC does not have a clear outlook for when production will resume as flood water on its facilities has continued since October 8, 2011.

Thai Honda Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Thai Honda), Honda’s motorcycle and power products production subsidiary in Thailand, does not have any flood water on its property, but has been suspending its motorcycle production since October 11 and power product production since October 6 due to parts supply disruptions. Thai Honda is scheduled to suspend its production until November 4, 2011.

Other Honda plants in Asia have been making adjustments to production volume or suspending production due to the limited parts supply from Thailand.

Honda operations in other regions also are being impacted by the limited parts supply from Thailand. Each operation is carefully examining the situation. As a result, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) temporarily suspends local production starting November 3 due to limited parts supply caused by the flooding in Thailand.

Honda deeply regrets any inconvenience this may cause its customers, and requests their understanding during these times. Honda and its suppliers are devoting all their efforts to minimize the impact on their customers.
