-

MANILA, Philippines - Ford Group Philippines continues to raise the bar of its business class offerings with the launch of its 2011 Ford Expedition XLT EL (Extended Length) and Ford Expedition XLT, which exclusively feature a wealth of convenience options giving the ultimate luxurious feel and drive.

“Ford continues to outperform its brand promise for customers to truly feel the Ford difference. The latest Ford Expedition line meets customer demand for innovative technology, upgraded safety-features, and a quality drive every time,” said Steven Tan, Ford Group Philippines Vice President for Sales and Marketing.

“The desire to anticipate our customers’ wants and needs never stops at Ford. In our Business Class offerings, that means latest innovative global technology that upgrades key vehicle attributes in comfort and convenience, stability and safety, fuel efficiency,” added Tan. “Our 2011 Ford Expedition XLT and XLT EL represent these standards here in the Philippines.”

Bold Design and Spacey Interiors

The 2011 Ford Expedition Extended Length XLT commands attention for its sophisticated lines and bold design, favored by full-size SUV-segment customers.

The 2011 Ford Expedition EL XLT sports 20-inch premium wheels for a bolder appearance. The upgraded Expedition XLT EL adds 14.8 inches more in overall length for a spacious interior, including 130.8 cubic feet of cargo space.

It also features a one-lever action 40/20/40-split seats in its second row that also fold flat for extra cargo space. A Centerslide™, a center section which slides as far as 11 inches, is also available for easy access of front and backseat passengers. Its interiors have also been thoughtfully and ergonomically designed for full function to also be aesthetically pleasing.

The Ford Expedition uses an independent rear-suspension system that leaves more room to let seats fold flat, and a Powerfold™ button that adjusts seats automatically up to the third row.

Class-leading Safety and Technology

Technology abounds on Expedition, helping to keep customers connected. SYNC, Ford’s industry-exclusive voice activated, hands-free infotainment system allows customers to connect their mobile phones and digital players via Bluetooth.

MyKey™ helps encourage safer driving, allowing parents to program a key through the vehicle message center to incorporate features such as:

• Persistent Belt-Minder® chime

• Limited top speed of 80 mph

• Traction control system that limits tire spin cannot be deactivated

• Audio system mute until safety belt is buckled; volume then limited to 44 percent of maximum volume

• A speed alert chime at 45, 55 or 56 mph

Easy Fuel Capless Fuel Filter, another innovation from Ford, eliminates the inconvenience of reclosing the gas cap after fueling. This technology helps prevent emissions from escaping, making the Ford Expedition more fuel-efficient.

This best-in-class vehicle also includes, AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control) for vehicle control, a Four-wheel disc brake with ABS, Traction control which limits tire spin, Trailer Sway Control and Safety Canopy® System for proven stability control, Front-seat side airbags, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Rear View Camera and Reverse Sensing System – all towards a safer and more confident drive.

Power Engine and Distinguished Performance

The 2011 Expedition XLT and XLT EL are powered by the proven 5.4 Triton™ V-8 engine, combined with 6-speed automatic transmission and E-85 Flex Fuel (FFV). Its 300 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque make it the best tow-rating in its class of up to 9,200 pounds. Having a wide 6.02:1 gear ratio and two overdrive gears (fifth and sixth), the Expedition XLT offers improved shift quality, faster acceleration and drive quality.

“With state of the art features, key safety innovations, bold design and strong engine performance, the 2011 Ford Expedition XLT is truly unparalleled on reliability, convenience, safety, space, innovation and efficiency. There is truly no better way to travel,” said Tan.
