The rise of the Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom
MANILA, Philippines - Gone are the days when big bikes are just for stern-looking males with very manly features wearing black body-hugging shirts and military pants and matching it with a black sunglasses. Nowadays, even women and the not-so macho-looking men could ride big-looking bikes – thanks to the production of cruiser motorbikes. And definitely, Kawasaki Motors Philippines will be on top of the list when it comes to cruiser bikes.
Joining the cruiser motorbikes of Kawasaki Motors is the Vulcan 900 Custom model. This latest offering from one of the top motorcycle manufacturers boasts of an exceptional roll-on acceleration that matches the get-up-and-go of much larger motorcycles. It is carefully designed with a massive rear tire, sculpted bodywork which is designed to be both pleasing to both the eye and to the touch, and light-looking front end highlighted by a thin 21-inch cast wheel. The Vulcan 900 Custom is powered by a 903cc V-Twin SOHC engine which provides smooth and reliable performance tuned to deliver a healthy dose of torque at low rpm. Furthermore, its tank is composed exclusively of curves with constantly varying radii. Adding spunk to its look are its mufflers which looks great and contains emission reducing honeycomb catalyzers. In addition, its tank mounted speedometer has turn signal indicators with caution lamps.
The perfect blending of the low 27 inch seat height, wide rear, featuring a 15-inch cast wheel and 180mm tire, with the less weighty trimmed-down look of the front, will give the rider the feeling of sitting on a motorcycle made for him (or her) alone. A subtle matte-black frame balances the stylish modern flair in its bodywork, low-slung seat, and stylish tail light. Its small, minimalist fender and lack of front fork covers also contribute to the slender appearance of the front end. It has a sporty, straight-style handlebar which adds to the bike’s custom styling with twin tubes elegantly curve back from the upper triple clamp. The forward-mounted foot pegs instead of floorboards add to the custom image of Vulcan 900 and further improves the rider control.
This special edition matte black cruiser is more than just good looking. Like its other 903cc family members, the 900 Custom’s big-bike feel is generated by a power-plant that pulls cleanly around town and out-accelerates anything else in its class out on the highways, where torque rules the road. The quality and the design of the Vulcan 900 Custom will definitely give pride to its owners.
