Globe and Subaru take on a new challenge for the environment

MANILA, Philippines - In celebration of Earth Day, Globe, a leading telecommunications provider in the Philippines and Motor Image Pilipinas (MIP), official distributors of Subaru vehicles in the country, are joining forces to stage the “Cordillera Challenge,” which will be held on April 23 in the Cordillera mountain ranges located in Northern Luzon.

Bikers from the Globe Adventure Club, a group of Globe employees who are certified biking enthusiasts, will participate in this event. They will be joined by the Motor Image Team, which will be composed of media practitioners and members of the Subaru Club of the Philippines.

“We put up this challenge to help raise consciousness of the environment and ignite environmental activism among Globe employees. As a corporate citizen, it is important that we are able to take care of our own ecosystem. This entails the responsible use of energy for our network infrastructure, provide social and economic assistance to the local communities where we operate, and harness strong employee engagement. Our initial activity in the Cordilleras is among the many initiatives of Globe to promote our advocacy in protecting the environment,” explains Ernest L. Cu, Globe president and CEO.

For its part Motor Image Philippines (MIP) will supply logistical requirements in transporting the bikes to the venue as well as providing support vehicles during the ride.
